Essential Clinical Skills Training for Care Assistants and Care Support Workers
City Gate Training Centre introduces a training program designed for those who are currently working, or have enough experience as Support Worker/Healthcare Assistants but are lacking knowledge in practical clinical skills.
Essential clinical skills training is one day of intensive interactive training, with one week of self-study time (materials provided) and 60 multiple choice question assessment test, which will take approximately 45 minutes to complete.
- Blood Pressure and Pulse
- Respiratory Rate
- Clinical measurements and recording
- Fluid balance charts
- BMI calculation
- Urinalysis dipstick
- Temperature measurement
- Glucose level monitoring
- Stool collection and sampling
- Completing patient observation chart and understanding NEWS
- Infection control including C.Diff and MRSA
After the theoretical part of the training, you will have a week of self-study time to prepare for the 60 multiple choice question assessment. You will not receive your certificate until you successfully pass this assessment (pass mark of 60% or more).
To apply for this training, you are must be over 18 years old with a good command of English and basic numeracy.
