CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Playwork

Who is it for?

The certificate is for anyone working with school aged children in a variety of settings including playscheme workers, sports centre staff, out of school workers or lunchtime supervisors

What entry qualifications do you need?

There are no formal entry qualifications but you must be 16 years of age and have at least 50 hours of playwork experience

What will you learn?

You will learn about the role of the playworker, health and safety issues and how to build relationships with children, parents and other staff

What age range of children is the qualification about?

4 to 16 years

How will you be assessed?

One externally marked assignment and one internally marked assignment

Will there be practical placements during the course?

You will either be in employment in a playwork setting or should undertake a minimum of 60 hours  voluntary placement

How many teaching hours?

50 recommended guided learning hours

What other qualifications can you do when you finish this qualification?

CACHE Level 3 Award/Certificate/Diploma in Playwork (AP/CP/DP-L3)
NVQ Level 3 in Playwork (NVQP-L3) (you must be supervising other playworkers before undertaking this qualification)
