CACHE Level 3 Award/Certificate/Diploma in Playwork
Who is it for?
Experienced playworkers wishing to gain a Level 3 qualification
People who are new to playwork but have experience of working with children in other settings
What entry qualifications do you need?
There are no formal entry qualifications but you must be at least 16 years of age
What will you learn?
The Level 3 Award is an introduction to playwork and managing a playwork setting.
The Level 3 Certificate will cover the underpinning knowledge for the Technical Certificate in Playwork.
The Level 3 Diploma will cover all aspects of the National Qualifications Framework at Level 3
What age range of children is the qualification about?
4 to 16 years of age
How will you be assessed?
The Level 3 Award is assessed by a multiple choice question paper.
The Level 3 Certificate assessed by a multiple choice question paper and four internally marked assignments.
The Level 3 Diploma is assessed by a multiple choice question paper and five internally marked assignments
Will there be work experience during the course?
There is a recommended 60 hours work placement for each unit
How many teaching hours?
The Level 3 Award is 60 recommended guided learning hours.
The Level 3 Certificate is 300 recommended guided learning hours.
The Level 3 Diploma is 360 recommended guided learning hours
What other qualifications can you do when you finish this qualification?
Foundation Degree in Playwork or B.A. Honours in Playwork
What jobs can I apply for?
The Award will allow you to work as a supervisor in summer playschemes.
The Certificate will allow you to work as an assistant leader or new supervisor in all play settings.
The Diploma will allow you to work as a leader/senior playworker in all play settings
